About Kimsey Vineyard
Tucked along the southern edge of the Ballard Canyon AVA in Solvang, Kimsey Vineyard is where our deepest roots are planted. It’s a 22-acre vineyard of rolling hills, laid out to take advantage of the natural contours and exposure of the site.
A unique intersection of climates
This corner of the canyon sits in a unique intersection of climates, with warm, sunny days paired with cool nights and coastal breezes. That temperature swing isn’t just a quirk, it’s the reason this place is so well-suited for Rhône varietals. Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Petit Sirah, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Viognier thrive under these conditions. These grapes ripen with richness and hold onto their structure and balance, producing wines that are equally expressive as they are clear.

We farm Kimsey Vineyard with patience and purpose, knowing that the site gives back what we invest into it. This vineyard produces our premium estate single varietal Syrah, Grenache, and our premium White Blend, which show off the prowess of the Ballard Canyon AVA.

Launch View Vineyard
Set against the hills on the western edge of the Sta. Rita Hills AVA, Launch View Vineyard is one of our most distinct vineyard sites, with an even more distinct name. Just over 6 acres in size, the vineyard is perched above Lompoc, with long views toward the Pacific and a clear sight of rocket launches from nearby Vandenberg Spaceforce Base.
